Job summary
We are offering opportunity for a Tax Manager / Assistant Tax Manager to be part of our Group Taxation team based at our Head Office in Kuala Lumpur for a challenging and long-term rewarding career. The Manager / Assistant Manager’s main responsibilities include managing all aspects of corporate tax compliance of the Group and providing tax advisory and tax planning support for companies across the Group. The position also provides opportunities for exposure to regional tax and overseas travel to support our overseas companies’ tax matters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Handling, managing and ensuring corporate tax compliance of the Group companies such as submission of annual tax returns, tax estimates, withholding tax returns, transfer pricing requirements etc.
  • Preparation / review of provisional tax computations for tax provisioning/tax estimates and final tax computations of Group companies.
  • Handling and managing tax incentives applications.
  • Providing corporate tax and SST advice in support of business units/operations across the Group.
  • Dealing with income tax/transfer pricing/withholding tax/SST audits conducted by the Inland Revenue Board / Royal Malaysian Customs and attending to the tax enquiries from the tax authorities.
  • Providing effective tax planning suggestions, managing and handling the tax planning implementation.
  • Keep abreast of latest tax developments and update the Management on the latest development and changes to tax regulations and analysing the implications to the Group companies.
  • Monitor tax compliance matters of regional overseas companies and provide necessary tax compliance and advisory support.
  • Leading tax team members on projects and assignments.

Requirements:

  • Professional qualifications (CTIM, MIA, MICPA, ACCA or equivalent) and/or Degree in Accounting/Finance.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience in a tax/accounting firm or corporate tax department of major corporations.
  • Good understanding of tax rules, regulations and practices.
  • Experience/knowledge of GST and international tax is a strong advantage.
  • Team player with good communication skills (both written and spoken) and ability to work independently while liaising with colleagues across business units or countries within the Group.
  • Strong work ethics, integrity, good leadership skill and self-motivated.
  • Analytical mindset with attention to details.
